Welcome

Welcome

FROM PAULA CHADWICK, CEO
Dear Patients, Carers and Supporters,
Welcome to the Winter edition of Inspire.
In this edition, we hear from four people living with lung cancer -
Craig, Katie, Santi and Leslie. All have very different stories to tell.
Craig “is not unwell; he just has cancer.” He is coping with what
life has thrown at him in the best way he knows how.
Katie is standing up to stigma.Young people with lung cancer can
feel isolated. We need to change this.
Santi was lucky. His cancer was found early. Now he is on a mission
to inspire others with his Olympic achievement.
Leslie isn’t bitter anymore about his misdiagnosis. Life has been
good to him and he is focusing all his energy on fighting once again.
Four remarkable people, inspiring many and facing their futures
head on, determined to tell their story to help others.
This November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Our four patient
stories tell us how this dreadful disease can affect anyone, smokers
and non-smokers, young and old, ordinary blokes and Olympians.
By reading and sharing Inspire, you are helping us to challenge
stigmas and stereotypes.Together we are taking one step closer to
beating the UK’s biggest cancer killer.
