How to Save a Life
The UK Lung Cancer Screening Trial was the first of its kind. Similar to our Lung Health MOT Check, patients were
identified by their GP and invited to a Healthy Lung Clinic, at which their risk of cancer was established. This was done
using a risk calculator developed by Professor John Field, Director of Research of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer
Foundation Research Programme and principal investigator of the Liverpool Lung Project, a research project we have
funded for more than 20 years. High risk patients, like Terry, were then offered a CT scan at a hospital of their choice
and, of these high risk patients, over 80% had a surgical intervention to prevent lung cancer.

This is why we are funding the Lung Health MOT Check, to identify lung
cancer, as well as other lung diseases, earlier and save more people like Terry.
But we need your help.
We receive no government funding; everything we do, every research project
we fund, every lung cancer patient we support, every person we save,
happens because people donate. People like you. Saving people like Terry.
